The Enhanced Text page type includes a built-in option to insert a selection of special characters.  For more information, see the page's Help menu (the "?" button).

Also, the Enhanced Text page, the All Purpose page, and the Homework With Text Formatting page all allow you to Copy and Paste formatted text (as well as special characters) from Word , with all formatting preserved. These page types also include a text formatting toolbar which will allow you to create subscripts and superscripts.

To add new pages such as this, go to your Update Index and click the Add New Pages button.

You can also insert special characters into other page types.  If you can create the special characters and/or math symbols using your keyboard, then you can type them directly into any Update page's input text box and Submit.  In Windows, you can use the Character Map to copy and paste the desired symbol into the Update page's input box. For examples, see

In Windows, you can usually access your Character Map as follows:
Programs ==> Accessories ==> System Tools ==> Character Map

For superscripts and subscripts, you can use the simple HTML tags shown at  More information on using HTML code in your site can be found here.

Some examples of special characters are:
® © ± § ² ³ ¶ ¹ º » ¼ ½ ¾ ° è é à á â ã ä å æ ç è é ê ë ì í î ï ð ñ ò ó ô õ ö ø ù ú û ü ý

Use superscript and subscript
E = moc2

If you are using special symbols not supported by the standard fonts, then you may have to produce and/or possibly scan the document you want to post and upload it to your web as a graphic.  More information on uploading graphics can be found here.
