Trial Webs:

Uploading files is not permitted during the trial period.  Please ensure that your web is paid before using this capability.

PAID Webs:

There are two steps to uploading and posting a photo or graphic:

  1. Upload the file so that it is available for use in your site.
  2. Select where and how you'd like to use the graphic.

UPLOADING FILES

To upload your files to your website:

  1. Go to your Update Index page.

  2. Click the Page Settings tab, then click File Management.

  3. On the resulting page, click the Browse button (at the top of the page) to select a file on your computer.

  4. If you would like to upload more than one file, you can click the "Add New Item" link to add additional file entry boxes.  You can upload as many files as you like at once.  Once you have added new entry boxes, repeat Step 3 to select each file you'd like to upload.

  5. Once your file or files have been selected, click the Upload File(s) button to submit the upload.

Your files will now be available for use in a variety of ways.  See below for information on ways to use your uploaded files.

USE YOUR PHOTOS/GRAPHICS:

Add to a Photos/Documents Page:  This page type allows you to post links to your uploaded files and graphics. Your students can click on those links to view your graphics. For an example, click here.

To add a Photos/Documents page, go to your Update Index and stay in the default "Update Index" page, which displays a list of all your site's pages.  On this page, click the Add New Page button and select "Photos / Documents".

Add to a Gallery Page: The Gallery page differs from a Photos/Documents page in that the photos are displayed directly on the page (instead of displaying links that lead to the images).  For an example, click here.

To add a Gallery page, go to your Update Index and stay in the default "Update Index" page, which displays a list of all your site's pages.  On this page, click the Add New Page button and select "Gallery".

Add to an Enhanced Text Page: This page type includes a formatting toolbar with a variety of options.  In addition to formatting text, you can insert graphics anywhere you like within the page.

To insert graphics into an Enhanced Text page, just go to the page's "Images" drop-down list, select from a list of your uploaded image files.

This page type allows you to post as many graphics as you like, and to combine formatted text and graphics however you like.

To add an Enhanced Text page, stay in the default "Update Index" page, which displays a list of all your site's pages.  On this page, click the Add New Page button and select "Enhanced Text".

Add to an All Purpose Page: This page type includes a formatting toolbar with a variety of options.  In addition to formatting text, you can insert graphics anywhere you like within the page.  To insert a graphic, go to the page's Insert menu and select "Insert Picture".  In the Image URL box, enter the file name of your uploaded graphic. (Example: image1.jpg)

To add an All Purpose page, go to your Update Index and stay in the default "Update Index" page, which displays a list of all your site's pages.  On this page, click the Add New Page button and select "All Purpose".

Change Home Page Icons: You can use your uploaded graphics as page icons on your Home Page in Classic webs.  (Note that Classic Frame and Template Design webs do not use a Home page with icons.)

To do this, go to your Update Index and stay in the default "Update Index" page, which displays a list of all your site's pages.  Click the "Edit Page Settings" button for the page you'd like to update.  In the pop-up window, click the "Select" button next to "Home Page icon".  In the "Select an Image from:" menu, select "My Library".  You will be able to select any of your uploaded graphics for use as the page's Home page icon.

Please note that when you use your own graphics as a Home page icon, you should be sure they are the right size for how you would like them to display.

Change Background, Divider Lines, Email Link Icon, School Link Icon: (option available in Classic and Classic Frame webs only)  You can use your uploaded graphics as page icons on your Home Page (for a non-Frame Style web) or as your pages' background or divider lines. To do this, go to your Update Index and click the "Site Settings" tab.  In the left sidebar, you will see options to update Background, Divider Lines, Email Link Icon, or School Link Icon.

When you go to any of these sections, you will see a drop-down "My Files" menu.  You can select any of your uploaded graphics files in this list.  You will be able to preview the graphic before submitting.

Please note that when you use your own graphics in this way, you should be sure they are the right size for how you would like them to display.

Add Photos/Graphics To the Top or Bottom of any page: To do this, go to your Update Index page and click the Edit Page Settings button for the page you'd like to modify. Click the Select button next to "Top Image" or "Bottom Image" to open the image selection window.

In the resulting window, change the "Select an Image from" drop-down menu in the top left corner from "TeacherWeb Library" to "My Library".  The page will now display all your uploaded graphics.  Select the desired image, then click the "Save Image Selection" button in the bottom left corner.

You will return to the Edit Page Settings window.  Click "Save Changes" to submit the update.

Use an Uploaded Graphic Anywhere on Any Plain-text Page:  By adding a single, simple HTML tag to any of the text input boxes for any update page, you can add an uploaded image to the contents area of any plain-text section of your site.  Click here for more information on using HTML code to create effects.
